The purpose of the letter of intent, which was signed at the India-Norway Business Summit 2019, is to facilitate financing for Norwegian exports.
According to Export Credit Norway CEO Otto Søberg, the agreement will provide an important boost to Norwegian exports to India.
“Export financing makes it easier for Norwegian exporters to compete for contracts in India, by providing a sales argument to companies seeking to sell their products and services there. The intention is for this letter of intent to result in a framework agreement which gives further impetus to export financing, particularly with regard to small and medium-sized enterprises,” says Søberg.
