“The boat was christened in Ålesund on Saturday 12 November by Fiona Larkin, CFO of Scottish Salmon Companies”, writes the company in a press release.
The boat was constructed by Aas Mek. Verksted AS, and is the sister ship of the Ronja Challenger, which was delivered to Sølvtrans in April of this year. The shipping company has concluded a five-year charter for the new-build with the aquaculture company Scottish Salmon Company, as of January 2017.
A wellboat is a special type of vessel used to transport live fish, and features spaces, or “wells” through which fresh seawater is circulated to allow live delivery of fish from farms to processing plants.
Export Credit Norway disbursed a loan of NOK 141,750,000 as part of the financing arrangements for the Ronja Supporter. The loan is guaranteed by GIEK and a syndicate of guarantors comprising Nordea, DNB, Sparebanken Vest, Innovation Norway and SR Bank.
